People fail in business because they make avoidable mistakes. Start-up entrepreneurs are possessed with enthusiasm and confidence but too often are unaware of potentially fatal business potholes that lie before them. All it takes is a single mistake, one false step, and a business can be history.
Mistake 1: Choosing a Bad Location: Startups prosper in some places and not others. Make sure you start up your office in a city. The reason why cities become startup hubs is that that’s where the experts are. Standards are higher; people are more sympathetic to what you’re doing; the kind of people you want to hire want to live there; supporting industries are there; the people you run into in chance meetings are in the same business. Who knows exactly how these factors combine to boost your startups
Mistake 2: Failing to Have a Professional Business Website: Many people will perform an internet search before they ever call you, so if your customers can’t find you online, you are missing out on opportunities. Nowadays, pulling together a business website is much easier. Have an idea of what you want, and if you plan on incorporating a blog I strongly suggest you start writing blog posts at least three months prior to the launch of your website, so that you do not get backed-up trying to develop content once your business starts rolling.
Mistake 3: Failing to spend enough time researching the business idea to see if it’s viable: This is really the most important mistake of all. Out of 10 business entrepreneurs, 9 entrepreneurs fail because their original concept is not viable. They want to be in business so much that they often don’t do the work they need to do ahead of time, so everything they do is doomed. They can be very talented, do everything else right, and fail because they have ideas that are flawed
Mistake 4: Choosing a Bad Location: Startups prosper in some places and not others. Who knows exactly how these factors combine to boost your startups.
Mistake 5: Choosing a Bad Location: Startups prosper in some places and not others. Make sure you start up your office in a city. Standards are higher; people are more sympathetic to what you’re doing; the kind of people you want to hire want to live there; supporting industries are there; the people you run into in chance meetings are in the same business. All the mistakes are justified and I would like to discuss the 2nd Mistake. Most of the business fail because they are not having a professional website. I have seen people who don’t even know that their website is down for couple of months. In some cases, there are companies having unprofessional websites which do not even have a contact form. So these issues should be considered by all the startup businesses.
Thanks
